Benefits Of Sunflower - Suraj Mukhi

Sunflower plant is a source of sunflower seeds and oil, both of which have tremendous health effects on humans. Sunflower seeds are greyish green or black in color and rich in oil, these seeds have nutty flavor and are used in many cooking recepies and available in market though out year. Basic importance of this plant lies in its oil which is extracted from seeds and sold in markets, it is very economical and have magical effects on heart and brain, because sunflower oil contain polyunsaturated fatty acids and vitamin E which are well known for preventing high cholesterol levels, high blood pressure, heart attacks, strokes, arthritis and many degenerative diseases. Sunflower oil contains highest amount of vitamin E. 
Vitamin E is an antioxidant and fights free radicals which are responsible for damage to vital organs, and also cause cancer and aging of cells. Sunflower oil contains minerals magnesium and selenium. 
Magnesium is used in many metabolic reactions and usful for energy production, it is good for bone health it makes bones strong. Magnesium is a very good anti inflammatory agent and cures anti-inflammatory diseases like asthma, arthritis and skin disorders. 
Magnesium also helps to balance calcium levels in blood and effective in maintaining proper muscle tone and nerve conduction. Selenium is another healthy nutrient found in high quantity in sunflower oil,various studies conducted on animals revealed that selenium inhibits cancer cell production by repairing DNA of cells .
